Tom is an insurance professional focusing on catastrophe and climate risk at the PRA, the Bank of England’s insurance regulator. Along with supervisory and thought leadership work, he is involved with the PRA’s stress testing, including analysing the physical risk scenarios from the 2021 Climate Biennial Exploratory Scenario (CBES), and natural catastrophe scenarios for the Insurance Stress Test (IST) 2022. Prior to joining the Bank, Tom’s previous role was 4.5 years working in catastrophe analytics at a reinsurance broker, with a focus on developing climate conditioned physical climate risk solutions as co-lead of their analytical Climate Change Working Group. This followed the completion of a Master’s in Earth Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
