about

Dr Felicia Liu is a research associate in the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group and she will be joining Jesus College as non-stipendiary Junior Research Fellow in Geography in Michaelmas 2022. Her research covers stewardship and engagement, biodiversity and nature finance, and the application of spatial finance and artificial intelligence technologies in facilitating sustainability transitions. She recently obtained her fully-funded joint-PhD in Economic Geography from King’s College London and the National University of Singapore, where she developed the idea of the financial ecologies of sustainable finance. Her doctoral thesis comparatively analyses the development of climate finance in Asian financial centres, which builds on her award-winning master’s thesis on sustainability disclosure regulations in Hong Kong and Singapore. Her other recent work covers the governance of nature-based climate solutions in Southeast Asia, as well as the social construction of nature in the Anthropocene and its implications on motivating mitigation and adaptation solutions.
